Last weekend we celebrated my nephew’s 1st birthday! My sister requested a cake with blue polka dots in various shades. And of course we had to have a smash cake for him! (and he LOVED it! 🙂 ) This main cake is a 12″ and the smash cake is 6″. The dots on the main cake are fondant, but I don’t do those on smash cakes as its safer for these little ones to just have buttercream. Happy Birthday, Myles!
This cake was for a baby shower ~ the mom-to-be wanted a main decorative cake plus yummy cupcakes on the side.
This cake was an 8″ & 12″. Buttercream with fondant accents. The bow and shoes are fondant/gumpaste blends. I did a similar cake in the past that she loved but instead of a fondant elephant like that one had, she wanted the little girly baby shoes.
The cupcakes were yummy flavors ~ raspberry cupcakes with white chocolate icing, chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting & chopped pb cups, lemon cupcakes with lemon icing, and [not pictured] strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese icing and a strawberry on top!
Today was the baby dedication for a little guy of a friend of mine. Last year I had the pleasure of doing her wedding cake so I was excited to have her call to ask me to do their little one’s baby dedication cake. She loved the color scheme of their wedding cake and wanted to replicate the colors/shape of it; only for the baby dedication. And this time we did polka dots! I love polka dots on cake. So fun!
This cake is a 6″ – 8″ – 10″ square cake. The dots and cross are fondant but the rest is buttercream.
These cupcakes were made for the sweet & adorable daughter of my cousin. We celebrated her dedication to God last weekend. We are sure blessed to have her as well as her mom and dad in our family. And of course, what is a celebration without cake? So here are the cupcakes we all ate that day…pink icing with crosses and flowers in all shades of pink…
This cake was made for my sweet little niece turning 1. The main cake is a 6″ – 8″ tiered cake with buttercream icing and fondant accents. The smash cake is a 1 layer 6″ cake with all buttercream. Monkey face is gumpaste.
Back in June of 2007 I was asked to make a bridal shower cake for my wonderful cousin, Aly. This cake pic has had a home at the top of the blog since day 1 and I get SO many comments on that cake. Well now 3 yrs later we are celebrating the soon to be born baby to this wonderful couple! 🙂 So of course I was excited to do the baby shower cake! I went off of the party ware they had purchased ~ see a pic below to compare 🙂 Cake is all buttercream except the birds and nest, which are gumpaste.
And here is the cake from the baby shower. Three tier (4″-6″-8″) done in buttercream with fondant accents and a fondant sculpted baby monkey on top.
These cookies were made for my sister’s baby shower this weekend. She calls her baby her little monkey 🙂 So we did monkey things for the shower.
This baby shower cake was to be based on the bedding that was picked out (see pic below). The butterflies are gumpaste and the rest is done in fondant.
